Dear Delegates,
The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), was founded on 26th June, 1945, after World War 2, with the intention of creating a committee whose goal was to preserve and promote peace and security. DISEC deals with the creation and fulfillment of peace treaties throughout various regions of the world, keeping a close connection with the nations involved in these treaties. The committee also focuses on the prevention of conflicts, from small altercations to armed conflicts. This year the committee will be dealing with ongoing security concerns in disputed regions, and it will also be focusing on the unregulated control of certain weapons.
As your presidents, we expect you to give your best effort when dealing with the complex and interesting topics that will be covered in DISEC, but always in a diplomatic and responsible environment. Finally, we want to give you a warm welcome to DISEC. If you have any questions regarding the committee, we will be more than happy to answer them via the committee email.
Yours sincerely,
Daniel & Laura
