Dear Delegates,

Based on their phrase “a healthy planet depends on all of us”, the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) is a global environmental authority that strives to create sustainable development for all. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, since 1972 this organization has focused on solving some of the most pressing issues that currently affect our world. These include climate change, the way towards renewable energy, disasters and conflicts, etc. These issues need to be tackled whilst still ensuring a good quality of life for people today, without endangering the future for generations to come.

In this nineteenth edition of CCBMUN, this committee will be focusing on broad topics we consider to be vital for the future development of our world. Delegates are expected to use their critical thinking in order to look for solutions to these problems. They need to use communication skills to appropriately express their delegations’ positions, and to use their investigating prowess to find information from reliable sources. We hope this model helps our delegates get a broader point of view about the chosen topics, as well as improving useful skills that can be used after the model.

We are looking forward to the start of the model,  and we want delegates to enjoy the great experience that this model represents. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about the topics or the committee.

Yours sincerely,

Emma & Maria Jose
